Well as sad as it is winter is here is the UK and we all now how could it is!
Outside cages- Before you all have ago there is nothing wrong with guinea pigs living outdoors! I have do my guinea pigs outdoor all their live and I have horses too go I am outdoors all day so they get so much attention!
However you could bring them in for winter or just cover the cage with blankets and put loads an loads of hay in like I do
Hay- This must be provided 24/7 as eating and as bedding especially if you guinea pigs are outdoors also they burrow in it to keep warm so put in bed area and all around the day area too.
Because you will need so much hay I buy the bedding from somewhere like ASDA s stuff at like £2.30 and the eating hair from a pet shop for like £5
Water- get a water bottle cover to keep their water from freezing and water needs to be changed twice a day in winter as it gets so cold and they drink more. A good idea is to put some warm water into the cold water so it's luke warm for them to drink
Keep them up to date on veg- as you cant feed them the grass really so veg that hasnt been left out so they rant freezing on there tummy
More winter wornings soon !

Someone asked me yesterday if it's mean favouriting one of your guinea pigs?
Well as long as yo give the same amount of food and floor time and check them over weekly then no however all of your guinea pigs need attention or they wont be tame and will be very hard to handle.
However i do have more of a bond with coco as when i went to view them at the breeders someone let her escape and i rescued her and after i have be building a bigger and bigger bond with her as she is she soft and gental and loves attention however i spend loads of time with my other four guinea pigs that i love just as much!
To be honest you ca have a favourite to spnd time with but if you a run that is big enough for you and yourpigs with lots of run left for them to run arounf then you can sit in and play with them all and try build bigger bond with the more shy guinea pigs by sitting cross legs with thier fav treat on your knee ( mine love grass ) and which ever comes on your knee gets a treat they soon learn quickly that you are no threat :)
So as long as you care for them as the same then no having a favouriteis not mean it is actually quite natural really.
Have you got a question ?
Email me it or become a meber and message me :)
Hello Guys
I am becky and these are my 5 beautiful guinea pigs!
Coco
She is the guinea pig i have a huge connection with after she got lose at her breders home and i rescued her ever since then she has been the tamest pig ive ever had.
Milly
After a rookie begain where she bited when i was near her she started to become tame and has become my favourite pig to do a photoshoot of because for her stillness and lovely markings.
Pepper
She is one of the sweetest guinea pigs i know. She is very cute and again very photo gentic too with a beautiful speceled coat grey and white.
Fudge
She is a very scared jumping guinea pig that will try to escape from anything as when i first got her sh jumper thought mesh cage which we had to double mesh after that, but she is slowly getting more tame.
Rose
She use to be a very shy guinea pig but she has soon found the more tame she is the more food she gets, i wasnt meant to be buying her but she was the last pig left and no one wanted her as of her strange ginger and grey coat and red eyes which melted my heart.
I love all my guinea pigs alot! I have had them a year and almost 3 months but when i was young i had them too. Now i know everthing and anything about them constantly looking up new things and spending as much time as i possibly can with them!
